Match devices, ports and cables.

UNDERSTAND FIRST. THEN CHOOSE.

Find what fits your everyday life.

A dark home quickly reveals what usually happens without a second thought. Plan around actual tasks: moving through your home, hearing an update and powering an essential device. Explore equipment categories, individual options and guides for the details of your power outage plan.

Choose light for the task

A headlamp frees your hands; a lantern lights a shared space. Consider who needs light in which room at the same time. Choose for the task rather than simply chasing a high lumen figure.

Actually try the radio

Germany’s BBK identifies a battery-powered or hand-crank radio as an information source during a prolonged outage. Try stations and reception at home. A NOAA label does not establish access to German emergency broadcasts.

Complete the charging setup

List your USB devices, their ports and the cable each needs. Charge the power bank in advance and try every combination. Our capacity guide helps distinguish rated capacity, usable energy and your own needs.

FROM PLANNING TO PRACTICE

Put your plan into practice.

Lay out your existing light, radio, power bank and matching cables. Note where each belongs and how it is powered. A second person should be able to find and operate them. Then choose the missing pieces.

GOOD TO KNOW

Before you choose.

What belongs in a power outage kit?

Lighting, independent information and suitable backup power are technical building blocks. Drinking water, usable food and personal needs also matter. The products below address individual tasks rather than a complete household reserve.

Is a ready-made blackout kit enough?

Check each item against your household: can you receive a station, power the lights and connect your phone? A kit name tells you little about compatibility. Including equipment you already own can avoid duplicate purchases.

Can a power bank help during a longer outage?

It offers a finite reserve for compatible devices. Duration depends on consumption, charging losses and use. Do not assume a fixed runtime from the printed mAh figure alone.
